Psychometric Evaluation Of The Comprehensive Autistic Trait Inventory In Autistic And Non-Autistic Adults
English et al., 2025
The Comprehensive Autistic Trait Inventory (CATI) is a free, reliable tool for measuring Autistic traits across both Autistic (diagnosed and self-identifying) and non-Autistic adults. It is suitable for people of different genders. In a study of over 2,600 participants, the CATI successfully distinguished between groups, with self-identifying Autistic individuals scoring similarly to those with formal diagnoses, and gender-diverse people scoring higher than cisgender individuals. These findings support the CATI’s usefulness in both research and clinical contexts, as well as in enhancing public understanding of Autism.
