Lived Experience Trainer

  • Contract

    • Fixed term (9 months)

    Hours

    • 2 days a week (14 hours)

      (we are open to discussing alternative working patterns with the right candidate.)

      FTE: 35 hours a week

    Salary: 

    • 2 days: £16,800-£18,000

      (£42,000-£45,000 prorata)

    Location

    • Home based (suitable workspace and reliable fast internet required).

    • Regular travel within Norfolk and Suffolk will be required.

    • Infrequent National Travel will be required.

  • We are looking for a passionate and effective Autistic Lived Experience Trainer to support us to deliver an exciting new programme of work. We have been commissioned by an NHS organisation to deliver and support the roll out of autism-informed care training to all staff working in their mental health inpatient settings. This programme of work will run for 9 months, and will include the delivery of various half day and full day autism-informed training sessions both in-person and online. We will also be working closely with Experts by Experience to become skilled and confident in delivery of this training to support the organisational sustainability of this knowledge. The programme of work will also embed an evaluation of the training to demonstrate learning and impact.

  • The application process is two stages.

    Stage 1

    • You will then be asked to answer 4 questions.

    • You will also be asked to complete an equity and diversity form. This is optional.

    Stage 2:

    If you are shortlisted you will be invited to attend an online interview and complete an online task.

    • You will be sent the interview questions 5 days ahead of the interview date.

    • As part of the interview, you will be asked to deliver a 15 minute virtual training session. We will share the training topic when we invite you to attend the interview.

  • We will host a live Q&A session on Wednesday 18th June, 4-5pm, on Microsoft Teams.

    A recording will be made available shortly afterwards on our YouTube page.

    References

    I have been employed before but due to certain reasons I am unable to provide previous employers as references, can I still apply?

    Yes you can, please include this information in your application and we would discuss it with applicants who are invited to interview.

    I haven’t worked before so do not have references from employers, does this stop me from applying?

    No it doesn’t, references can come from those you have volunteered for or from education staff.

    Equipment

    Will I be supplied with equipment for the role?

    Yes, before you start we will have a discussion about what equipment you require to be able to carry out this role.

    Location

    I live outside of the UK, can I still apply?

    Unfortunately we are unable to accept applications from outside of the UK

    I do not live within an hour commute of Norfolk and Suffolk, are there other jobs available?
