Safeguarding Statement

We are committed to improving the quality of health and social care, developing accountability to children and to adults who we come into contact with and strengthening the choice and control they have over their care and support.

We believe that Safeguarding is everyone’s business.

If you have a concern, report it: don’t leave it to someone else.

The aims of our policy:

  • To promote an approach that concentrates on improving the life and health outcomes for ALL children and adults who may be at risk of abuse and neglect.

  • To identify, report and help to stop abuse and neglect of people at risk.

  • The fundamental outcome we aim to achieve is to strive to achieve in any safeguarding situation is: put it right, make it safe, put measures in place to prevent it from happening again.

The key points from our policy:

  • Living a life that is free from harm and abuse is a fundamental human right of every person and an essential requirement for health and wellbeing.

  • Safeguarding means protecting a person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.

  • Safeguarding is everyone’s business and responsibility.

  • When abuse takes place, or is suspected, it needs to be dealt with swiftly, effectively and in ways which are proportionate to the risks that have been identified.

  • Neurodiverse Connection will always work with other agencies and promote the person’s wellbeing in their safeguarding arrangements. Wherever possible we will work with the person or people affected to establish what being safe means to them, and how that can be best achieved.
