This Autistic-led UK study explored the workplace experiences of 14 Autistic educators using diaries and interviews. It found that many faced ongoing exclusion shaped by stigma, poor communication, and colleagues’ individual attitudes, often without safe access to adjustments. However, genuinely inclusive schools, described as non-hierarchical and valuing autonomy and expertise, supported Autistic staff and benefited all students and educators, Neurodivergent or not.
