£0.00

National Autism Implementation Team (2024)

Autistic people are often under-represented in the workforce, experience discrimination and face poor mental health due to their employment. This guide offers support for Neurodivergent people with regards to employment and employers. The guidance is based off a review of the literature and interviews with 34 Autistic adults working in professional roles in health and education in Scotland. The interviewees were asked about both challenging and supportive experiences of training, recruitment and employment. They provided recommendations for improving training, recruitment and employment for Neurodivergent people. The guide was also reviewed by people in management and human resources roles. The guide aims to offer advice on language, mindsets and actions that do not cost but support the whole workforce.
