Research shows that autistic teachers and school staff face significant challenges such as lack of understanding, sensory difficulties, mental health issues, and fear of disclosing their diagnosis, which can hinder their career in education. Despite these barriers, some report positive experiences and highlight the valuable role autistic staff can play as role models, promoting inclusion for autistic students. The study emphasises the need for more support and research in this underexplored area.
