Opening Up Autism Research: Bringing Open Research Methods to Our Field.

£0.00

Hobson, Poole, Pearson and Fletcher-Watson (2022).

Autism research depends on the time, energy, and experiences of Autistic people. For this research to truly help Autistic people live happier and healthier lives, the results need to be trustworthy and the way the research is done needs to be clear. This short paper looks at something called Open Research—a way of doing research that is more open, honest, and easy to check. Open Research uses different tools and methods to make the whole research process more transparent. These include writing down the study plan before starting, sharing research materials so others can use them, and making the data from studies easy to access. The authors look at how using Open Research could make Autism research fairer, more respectful, and more useful to the Autistic community.
