Historically Autistic women and girls have been underrepresented and underdiagnosed. This in-depth guide addresses this underrepresentation. The authors outline why girls may go undiagnosed including masking behaviours. The guide explores diagnosis from childhood into adulthood before addressing Autistic woman and girls experience with education, gender and eating disorders. The authors also explicitly address ethnicity, and the factors race can play in diagnosis.
