Psychological therapists working with autistic people in a primary care service for anxiety and depression often felt unprepared and undertrained, with concerns that standard therapies were sometimes ineffective or even harmful. Despite these challenges, therapists recognised that talking therapies could still have positive effects and recommended targeted training to improve their ability to support autistic clients effectively.
